Excitement is mounting…

Apple generally know how to get the Mac community excited and it seems they’ve done it again! This time with a monstrous banner. Well played Apple, you have whet my appetite. Roll on tomorrow. Look out for Twitter updates on the day (search twittter for iCreateMagazine) and we’ll also be trying our hand at live-blogging from the event itself - ok, not the event itself in San Fran, but the beamed show in London. So, watch this space as of about 4:00pm BST.

Can’t wait.

We’re There!

We love September. It means new iPods. This September is no different, Apple has just invited us to a ’special event’ on September 9th.

We’re expecting to see a new iPod Nano as well as a form factor change for the iPod Touch so it matches the iPhone and we’ll probably get various storage bumps in there too.

Stay tuned on the day because I will sending blogs up as the event happens. Can’t wait.

Gervais worried about his crown…

It seems as though Ricky Gervais has gotten wind of iCreate’s successful podcast and is so worried that we might beat his world record (as the most downloaded show) that he’s decided to make another series of podcasts.

We’re on to you Ricky and you know what? We’ve got the momentum already, you’ll never stop us! The world record is coming to iCreate!

The new Gervais podcast is set to be released on the 16th September.

Sequel to Sequel

Breaking news from digital audio land, a mystical place where music and computers skip hand in hand through the plug-in fields. German sequencersmiths and inventors of VST Steinberg have just announced a new version of their would-be GarageBand-killer, Sequel. The amusingly-named Sequel 2 fields several exciting new features including a virtual keyboard, new track icons, audio reverse, an audio warp feature, a tap tempo function and a controller mode allowing the use of a hardware controller, which promises to be particularly useful in a live performance environment. If you’re an itchy-fingered GarageBand user and would like to check out the competition, more details can be found at http://www.sequel-music.net/home.html

Roll on Tuesday

There are reports being leaked across the web that we will see an update to the iMac range on Tuesday.  From the information we’ve gathered (via Geeksugar and Engadget) there will be no cosmetic changes, just a speed bump and some bigger hard drives.

Lest hope this is the first in a series of releases by Apple that will include new MacBooks, MacBook Pros and then the all singing, all dancing 3G iPhone. Joy!

Purple nano

There have been various reports over the last few days that Apple is about to release a new colour in the iPod nano range. This time it looks like we may see a purple effort. The source of the rumour comes from a Circuit City circular ad distributed in Minneapolis and its spawned some serious debate on the internet.

New nano?

There is already a purple iPod shuffle so its not beyond the bounds of reasoning that we may see an update soon. Watch this space!
